Romeo Gervais has served as the current Assistant Chief of Support Services for the Boise Fire Department since 2021. Prior to coming to the Boise Fire Department, Brad served 20 years working for the Bureau of Land Management’s Fire and Aviation program starting as an entry level firefighter and working his way up through various Fire and Aviation positions ending with Division Chief. Additionally, he is part of the Fire Chief’s Executive Team which is involved in setting program direction, as well as supporting the city-wide initiatives and goals, implementing standards and policies, and adjusting the course of our mission to meet the community’s needs.īrad has worked for the Boise Fire Department for 10 years and has held the positions of Division Chief of Operations, and Division Chief of Safety and Training. He is also the host of the BFD Mission Strong podcast, and you will often hear him say “remember who we serve."Ĭhief Niemeyer is also active in the broader fire service, currently serving as the President of the Western Fire Chiefs Association after serving 4 years as a board member representing the State of Idaho. In addition to leading the Boise Fire Department, Chief Niemeyer has served multiple terms as the chairman of the Ada County/City Emergency Services Systems along with his work at the state level to improve firefighter health and safety, as well as, overall community response capabilities. Chief Niemeyer was appointed by Mayor Lauren McLean in 2020 after serving the previous 10 years as the Fire Chief for the City of Meridian. As the largest fire department in Idaho, and one of the fastest growing cities in the country, Chief Niemeyer leads a mission-centered team of nearly 300 men and women who serve the City of Boise and surrounding communities. Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer has 30 years of public safety experience and currently serves as the Fire Chief of the Boise Fire Department.
